2013 Swing on a Star

Evidence of last night's revelry in Wentworth.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Recapping the festive season:

Steve prepares the garden for the landing of reindeer.

My dream of a flowering agapanthus in a pot a la Espagne comes true.

Christmas day celebrated with family - the devils are in the detail...

Frozen grapes for those who remember...

My concept of the perfect meal.

Even remembered to light candles.

Tired but happy after the presents.

Boxing Day and the sporty ones watch the Test.

Last Sunday in December I saw the light.

And more evidence of New Years (as we seem to say these days)
Let's do it right in 2013!!

White Christmas

The salt lake on Paschendale Road.  But Merry Christmas regardless.

Indulge me

I had a pedicure on Wednesday to celebrate the end of study (ask me anything about Dual Diagnosis) and today I did a garden stroll to celebrate the thunderstorm early this morning.  Very pleased with myself  I am.

The runaways

Saturday we ran away to the circus in Adelaide.
It was everything I love.
We caught the bus from the pub (Steve's words)

2 photos taken within seconds of each other.

Of course you can't take photos once you're inside the big Big Top.
Those of you who have seen the show will know that it is magic - the best of human beings used for good.
Even the guy selling the ice-creams was magic - he had almond magnums and foraged around for $1 change because he wasn't allowed to take a tip.
A mixed crowd and big buckets of popcorn - and Steve's arm.
We walked back to the hotel and, after a bit of circling around Gouger and Grote Streets because we couldn't agree on what we felt like eating, decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant which fit the bill for us both perfectly.
We could see the circus from the hotel.

Steve was very much in planner mode the next morning.
The only downer was the bus driver asking if we had a Seniors Card...

Summertime

I have long wanted to have a picnic tea on the wharf after work.  Monday my dream came true.

Felt like Huck Finn and the gang.

The missing Wednesday

I had to go to the dentist to be fitted for crowns.  Steve was so smitten with my outfit, he took a photo.  I should rip the sleeves off my denim jackets more often.

It was Steve's birthday and we realised that we have quite a good record of our garden on 21 Novembers.
In the evening we celebrated comme d'habitude though we had resolved to take a photo of us together and I studied up on how to do it.  Two seconds are very short - I don't know how anyone can set up the camera and get in place in 2 seconds!

Ten seconds was just right - though I wish I'd had a crown to keep my hair in place.

Steve finds the Golden Apricot

and ponders whether to share with a friend,

which he does.

But she doesn't.
I curse you Grimshaw.
Back in the blogging business!
