Saturday we ran away to the circus in Adelaide.
It was everything I love.
We caught the bus from the pub (Steve's words)
2 photos taken within seconds of each other.
Of course you can't take photos once you're inside the big Big Top.
Those of you who have seen the show will know that it is magic - the best of human beings used for good.
Even the guy selling the ice-creams was magic - he had almond magnums and foraged around for $1 change because he wasn't allowed to take a tip.
We walked back to the hotel and, after a bit of circling around Gouger and Grote Streets because we couldn't agree on what we felt like eating, decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant which fit the bill for us both perfectly.
We could see the circus from the hotel.
Smiling. Lovely. You know how much I love a good circus.
ReplyDeleteSo, will you be reading The Dark Is Risimg?
Good to see the photos at last!
ReplyDeleteNon credibile George! The library does not have any of the sequence - I shall have to try interlibrary loan. I dooooooooo want to read them, and I have finished all my study now.

David, John and I took Ashlee to Cirque for her birthday when she was little. I forget the theme, but it involved a large balloon of the earth in the first half and before intermission it was offered to Luke, as we were at the stage edge, but he was too shy and as I recall, they gave it to Ashlee, who has had the world in her hands ever since. She is 21 in a month and off to Japan to ski. That magic just keeps on giving.
ReplyDeleteI will post you The Dark is Rising, after blowing the fairy dust off of it.
magic magic magic skiing in Japan and The Dark is Rising. What charmed lives we live - and may it continue.
