wealth for very little toil

I think I have written previously that the only reason I would like to be Holmes a Courtishly wealthy is to own Van Gogh's irises.  Well I'm nearly there.

  1. I am suffering helibor and iris envy! I do have a marvellous crop of weeds and so much rain to bring on even more. Sigh!

  2. Yes, there are patches of the garden that I don't look at because the sight of the weeds is overwhelming. On the other hand, all the rain we're getting is bringing to life some beautiful surprises. I think I have some self-sown sea holly.

  3. All you need now is an arched bridge!
The Fleurieu Floosie adores irises and had loads in her last garden. They multiplied vigorously and filled in lots of spaces. She brought one over to her new house. It is in a pot but, sadly, it is not flowering. Perhaps next year.

  5. I suppose, BJD, I should have said 'Wait till I'm growing peonies'.

  6. Oops. I got confused with Van Gogh's irises and Monet's waterlillies, hence the cryptic bridge comment.

  7. No worries, FF, I'm sure Monet had irises too - a good excuse to consult my lovely Monet's House book. I've got the artist if not the bridge. He's out plein airing as we speak.
