Last Tuesday we graced The East Coaster for coffee after zumba. We have settled into a routine of alternating between here and Spirit of Maria in Triabunna. It was NAIDOC week and a smoking ceremony was happening below us.
Thursday brought school lunch prep and service to the students, parents and community before Assembelly - the last week of term. After spruiking leftover desserts to anyone not quick enough to get away, and washing 16 million dishes, it was off to the Orford Community Hall for the final rehearsal of the Maria Voices before their appearance at Festival of Voices. It was only 6 numbers, starting with
California Dreaming and finishing with
Hit the Road, Jack, and it was very difficult not to get up and dance. A very spirited performance. I would love to join this group but there are just too many other things to do!
For some reason (that I must grill her on), Her Majesty donned a blonde wig. I think it was for
Dream Lover. Really must find out.
The drummer, a new addition to the band, seemed to be having a helluva time - as drummers do.
Amazingly, Steve and I went out together on Saturday. Tenzin Cheogyal was playing at the Spring Bay Mill, so we blissed out Tibetan style
Not forgetting that some time in the week, I picked up a piece of Georgia's work that had just been fired at The Village. A beautiful piece, much admired. Though it also reminds me of Captain Pugwash's boat.
