The Beagle has language...

Here's CK Beagle, one of the Easter Gang of 4.  She's had an operation on her tongue, with part of it being removed.  Not nice for anyone, but particularly difficult for a language lover and French teacher.  But she's amazing.  And while she sounded a little slurry, she's still exercising that fabulous humour and vocabulary.  Photo taken last Tuesday, 12 June.

Ode to Oscar

2012

The early days.

I can't remember where this stone came from years ago.
I've always thought of it as Oscar's churinga stone.

McBron

My avid study of June InStyle magazine has revealed this little number.  Which is soooooo Bron.  I see it in the McLennan tartan.
Some gratuitous Autumn shots.

This is actually a shadow, or the reflection of a shadow, or something.  I noticed it while having a quiet mulled red in the back garden.  The changes were mesmerising, snakelike.

And in other, totally unrelated, news just met a friend in the supermarket.  He's a frequent traveller to China.  This time he travelled northern China, Mongolia and Arctic Russia.  He described standing knee-deep in a lake late at night in the Arctic Circle.  He said there were stars everywhere and it felt like floating in space.  He also saw the Northern Lights.  I asked him about wolves.  He said wolves followed him each day but left him alone.  He travels alone.

Kitchen Garden

This is the Wentworth School's Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden.  It is a wonderful space.  I am keen to volunteer there but work gets in the way...  This was ANZAC Day.  We dropped off a huge bag of peatmoss that Steve had bought me when I wanted potting mix.  The shed is new and serves as a classroom as well.  The original schoolroom, 1868 or similar, has been converted to a kitchen where the kids learn to use and cook the garden produce and get to dine in.  It is a truly inspiring project.  There is a competition on Classic FM where you can win a grand piano for your school.  If I could get myself organised, I'd see if the school would like to participate.  Imagine the kids dining and a grand piano being played in the background.

Days to remember

On some recent training, I had to identify some groups that I belonged to.   One of them was 'Friends at Easter'.  We then had to place them under 'social', 'activities', 'therapeutic' and 'professional'.  After some deliberation, I placed 'Friends at Easter' under 'therapeutic'.  It makes me whole again to be with my mates at Easter.

We eat well.

Another view of Stoneleigh's front garden.

My laundry bedroom.

The business centre.

The lounge that we used once.

Bron's bedroom.

The Barossa Farmers Market.
(Adorable nieces, please point out diablo player to your father.)

Walking into Angaston  for adventure.

Getting to the Town Hall Market just in time to be too late.

The Council Offices that are for sale - would make a fabulous house if Stoneleigh Cottages don't suit...

The Sculpture Park in its very clever setting.

The Blacksmith's Shop, Angaston.

Secret gardens.

All you need is love, enough money and 3 good friends (one with camera).
