for those who liked the orchids

I checked out the piece of Pelican Walk on Vicarys Estuary which the council deliberately avoids mowing to help preserve some native vegetation.  It is alive with flowers at the moment, many so tiny you cannot see them in the photo.  Could my back garden be returned to this?

  1. Oh, a wild meadow would be fabulous in your back yard. The photo of the orchids is so lovely ... and not a dandelion in sight. FF

  2. I am allowing the native plant (bar the fruit trees) half of the back yard to go wild, but currently that means lots of dandelions, daisies, mallow, etc. Not quite sure how to get indigenous 'weeds' to grow as meadow.
